MRI Scans For Pets
Several veterinary MRI systems are run, leased, and serviced by Devashrya Animal Hospital. We have a preference for particular MRI brands and types as a result of our experiences in veterinary medicine, particularly neurology.
When Do We Use MRI?
Vet MRI scans are often suggested for identifying issues rather than as a preventative measure for healthy dogs, cats, or other pets. MRIs are most frequently used to identify issues with the brain and spinal cord when other tests are unable to pinpoint the illness's underlying cause.
- An MRI can detect cancers, infarcts (when there is a loss of blood flow to a portion of the brain), abscesses, and inflammation of the covering of the brain (meninges).
- Herniated discs, stenosis (narrowing of the vertebral column), nerve root impingement, and spinal tumor are among the spine illnesses that can be identified using an MRI.
MRI Scans performed include:
- Soft Tissue Injury
- Vascular Disease
- Central Nervous System (Brain and Spinal cord)
- Evaluation & Characterization of Tumors
- Musculoskeletal Injuries
- Congenital Anomalies
- Orthopedic Exams
- Vascular Obstructions
- Metastatic Evaluations
- Cancer
